Early Life & Background
Michael DeLuca, was born on June 14, 1980, in Birmingham, England, United Kingdom. Raised in a blue-collar family in the heart of the West Midlands, DeLuca’s upbringing was shaped by discipline, modesty, and the value of service to others. His father was a factory engineer, and his mother worked as a nurse — both of whom instilled in him the importance of community and resilience.
From an early age, DeLuca was fascinated by emergency services, often observing local fire brigades responding to industrial blazes in Birmingham’s manufacturing districts. These moments, coupled with his mother’s compassion for others, inspired him to pursue a life of service.
In his early twenties, DeLuca immigrated to San Andreas, seeking new opportunities and a chance to make his mark. Settling first in Los Santos, he enrolled in San Andreas State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science (2004).
Career with the San Andreas Fire Department
DeLuca joined the San Andreas Fire Department (SAFD) in March 2004 as a Fire Candidate at the SAFD Academy. His leadership qualities quickly set him apart from his peers, earning top marks in tactical operations and command simulations.
By 2005, he had completed probation under the mentorship of Lt. Raymond Holt at Station 4, and was noted for his professionalism and reliability. In 2006, he earned a Commendation for Valor after rescuing three fellow firefighters during the Paleto Forest Wildfire, cementing his reputation as calm under pressure — and earning him the nickname “Ironclad.”

Personal Life

He is divorced with his wife, and his children are residing in Los Angeles, following his ex wife’s career advancement to a Level 1 Trauma Center.
